+ EXPERIENCED ARCHITECTURAL GRADUATE / TECHNICIAN

We are a design focused architectural practice based in Christchurch but undertaking a wide range of projects throughout New Zealand. We have a proven reputation for producing award winning, innovative and thoroughly documented projects.

 

A fundamental precept of the practice is to develop designs that are appropriate to their site, context and usage and to develop building form and image from these factors and the structural and environmental considerations rather than the imposition of a stylistic image. Sheppard & Rout are a Green Star accredited practice and are highly experienced in the production of energy efficient, sustainable, green buildings.

 

We are seeking a talented new staff member to join our team in the role of Architectural Graduate / Technician, working as part of our talented team in our creative award-winning studio setting.

 

Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years office experience and be skilled in ArchiCAD.

What experience / skills you will have:

  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of the New Zealand Building Code and statutory regulations

  • Competent and efficient with New Zealand construction detailing and documentation

  • Experience with construction observation on site

  • The ability to maintain relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.

  • Must be a team player with good communication skills and ability to work with other team members.

  • Proven experience to produce fully coordinated documentation on a variety of project types including both residential and commercial projects while maintaining the high standards of design and detailing that Sheppard & Rout Architects are renowned for.

  • Ability to take a project from Preliminary Design through Developed Design, Construction Documentation and Observation on site

  • The ability to manage time and workload in a busy studio environment to achieve deadlines.

  • Strong interest and ability in design and attention to detail

Benefits

Full time hours (8.30 am – 5.00 pm, five days a week)

Salary is negotiable depending on skills and experience.

Key aspects of the role include;

  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of the New Zealand Building Code and statutory regulations

  • Competent with New Zealand construction detailing and documentation

  • Experience with construction observation on site

  • Experience leading a small team documenting a variety of projects

  • The ability to maintain relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.

  • Must be a team player with good communication skills and ability to work with other team members.

  • Proven experience to produce fully coordinated documentation on a variety of project types including both residential and commercial projects while maintaining the high standards of design and detailing that Sheppard & Rout Architects are renowned for.
